SMEDAN was established by the SMEDAN Act of 2003 to primarily promote the development of the MSME sector of the Nigeria Economy. The Agency positions itself as a One Stop Shop for MSME Development with a vision to establish a structured and efficient micro, small and medium enterprises sector that will enhance sustainable economic development of Nigeria.

In line with this mandate, giant steps have been taken in the past to ensure the realization of these lofty goals. SMEDAN is now poised to explore and maximize the opportunities presented through emerging technologies to bring great ideas and offerings closer to the MSMEs in Nigeria and beyond.
